^ I know how you feel. During the election I posted some opinions that were not accepted by my followers. I got a lot of heat about it. What blows my mind is that these are the same people who preach acceptance and equality. I guess I forget to read the fine print. Don’t be too cynical about it though…there are people who want to hear your opinion, like me!

Many people don’t realize that as Muslims we’re taught to love Jesus as well, he’s extremely important in our religion. While we don’t believe him to be the son of God, we do believe him to be one of the greatest people to walk this Earth.

Jesus is our homeboy too.

What I think is even more important is that people don’t try to understand what you believe, they just want to mindlessly hate you. Furthermore, what they don’t realize is, they have no right under any circumstances to judge you, even if you believe that Jesus was a turtle.

Okay this is a random rant.

I feel really really bad for my brother. He’s 15 and he’s in that stage where he really really wants my Dad to accept him and think he’s tough enough and “man” enough. It’s kind of sickening…I’m a little over all the “that’s not very manly” or “that’s not very feminine” thing. Definitions and all that are kind of silly.

It’s like all the shit I get about my dance class. Because it’s called “Flirty Girl Fitness” people auto-jump onto “Oh so it’s slutty then, right?” or “So…it’s for bimbos and cheerleaders?”

uh. no. no, that’s not it at all. The word “Flirty” has become a “feminine” word somehow, and of course something defined as “feminine” is not something you want to be a part of. Even people who define themselves as “feminists” are ashamed by all things feminine. Because, according to most, wearing a lot of pink and a short skirt, shaking your hips a little, or popping your back to a song, is feminine…and being feminine directly correlates to being “weak” or dancing “provocatively.” (I won’t even get into the fact that for some reason “provocative” is how society defines moving your body muscles a certain way)

I don’t really understand why some women are so afraid of being women. Why are you so ashamed of the fact that maybe your more slender than a man, or maybe your hips are rounder. Why do we get angry at women who define these features? Why do we spit at short skirts or cleavage? Isn’t that what feminism is all about? Being a woman and not being ashamed to be?

I’m on a mission to change peoples minds. I was once equally ashamed of my certification in “Flirty Girl Fitness.” But you know what? Not anymore. I’m flirty, pink, and proud. And I can dance my ass off.
